I have a 95 YJ with Dana 44's 456 gears np231 transfer case slipe yoke eliminator, and the 4.0 liter. Also the front axel does not have lock outs on it. If I take an extened jeep trip say 150 miles in the jeep, the front drive line will spin out of the yoke up at the transfer case. This has happened twice now. I do make sure the u joint is properly set into the yoke. Some help would be great.

Is it a u-bolt type yoke or a strap type yoke? Do you use blue loctite on the bolts? Are the bolts still in after the u-joint pops out? Have you tried new u-bolts or straps depending on which yoke you have?

It is a stap type yoke, I have not used loctite. One strap and bolts are in place and tight. The other is gone as well as the bolts. I have just replaced the ones that are missing. Thank you for responing this has been fustrating.

are the dogs broke off of the yoke? they keep the caps from sliding out even if the bolts are loose.... give the straps a good wack with a hammer before you bolt em back. on one of my full size rigs the straps are stretched out and allow the caps to spin when I'm horsing it, they've never come out
got any good close up pics you could send me? I may be able to get chariot to post some pics of how it's supposed to look...yeah, hint hint!

You must use loctite on the strap style bolts. They come form the factory with thread locker. If the yoke is bad, look into changing over to the u-bolt style yoke.

both bolts on the same strap would have to physically unscrew about a 1/4" to fling out the joint.... I've never seen it happen, there must be another problem.

I don't think it is hard to read and drive, but I do find it hard to drive and read!
