Hey All, newbie here, i got a 2001 Cherokee sport. well over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed my idle and rpms a little on the low side. and usually when it first starts it revs pretty high, but that is all jeeps. my problem became very noticeable when my wife(i know 1st mistake) anyhow, she called and said it just shut off, it wasnt out of gas, so i went and started it, and it will run fine as long as you pedal it. another words use both feet to keep the rpm's up. otherwise, it shuts off at stop signs and red lights. everything is stock 4.0liter. please help.

Check to see that the battery is not arching.

i appreciate the advice but just heard from my mechanic and it was exactly what i figured it was. the idle air control motor. which i just took off over the weekend thinking(hoping) that cleaning off all the carbon gunk would fix it. but nope. instead of spending $60 for the part, i have to spend 115 for someone else to do it!!!! anyhow, thanks for the try on the advice...
