I am looking at a few different lift kits for 1998 Wrangler, 4.0L and 5 speed. I have narrowed it down to either a 2" or 3" teraflex basic coil lift or a Pro Comp 2" lift. My question is how much vibration will I have with the 3" and how much will I have to shim the control arms front and rear to eliminate drivetrain vibrations? I don't want to use the transfer case drop kit. Ok,Same question but with either of the 2" systems. I am looking at running no larger than 31" or 32" tires.

On a similar subject, would I need to re-gear for these tire sizes? The jeep is a 1998 Wrangler Sahara. I have googled the hell out of it and I can't find one straight answer as to what the stock gear ratio is. Some say 3.07 and others say 3.73? Anyone know for sure?

for your stock gears you'll have to look for a tag on the front diff, if there isn't one you can jack up one tire and count the # of drive shaft revs to one rev of the tire. also it can be figured out very close by the road speed/tire size and rpm's.
it's the only way cause there are many ratio options.

if your not going larger than 32's just use some new 2" coils preferably... or coil spacers. a simple pinion adjustment will pretty much eliminate the driveshaft vib. the caster up front may need to be adjusted to eliminate some wobble if it ends up with any. also adjustabe trackbars or bracket extentions, shocks for up to 3" lift will be needed and one inch wheel spacers if the stock wheel baskspacing is 5.5" (4.5")

4.10 gears will be the minimum for both 31-32" rubber. the 3.73's will be ok for the 5spd/ 31's although kinda under powered.

Thanks!!! That makes my decision a lot easier. I am going to do the 2" pro comp coil spring lift.
