My wife and I have an 87 Cherokee and a 96 dodge ram 1500 both are 4wd. We want to lift our jeep and someone told me about adding leaf springs from an s-10 to the stock leaf springs and it will gain around 8 inches. Also putting a piece of metal and using it as a spacer for the front and i can get around the same gain with that.. It doesnt seem right or safe. Do any of you know about this at all?

Your not going to get 8" out of s-10 coils, but I have heard that you can use them to get 2-5 inches, you can also use dakota leaf springs. I used to have a '94 cherokee with F150 front coils, and 3" add-a-leafs in the rear with 31x10.50s and that worked well. check out this page www.lunghd.com/tech_articles/suspension_steering_axles_and_brakes/budget_lift.htm
