I have five already.  I was planning on rotating the spare in with the others.

Oh well, I learned that one the hard way.

Thanks for the info.

I'll have to make a note of that. I never have tried to use the 5.5" backspacing with tires over 10.5 wide.. I always advise to go to the 4.5 if they don't want the moab rubi wheels...

thanks for the pics..

I got a little over 30,000 on my stock wranglers, the spare never touched the ground until I ran a tree limb through the sidewall of one of the nearly wore out front tires...

Everything is put back together finally.  I used a Teraflex rear track bar because the Pro-Comp bar didn't work.

With everything centered I have almost an inch clearance on each side (pretty good).

I still have driveline vibration though.  I adjusted the rear alxe as far up as it would go with the adjustable cam bolts.

Hopefully the rear springs will settle when I put my hard top on.  They seem to be sitting pretty high.

Thanks for the help.

ya, they'll settle some, you can also put in some washers between the fram to lower the skid slightly and not have to drop it as far as a t-case lowering kit will. give it a little time first though. throw some weight back there to see if it goes away...

what's the deal with the pro comp bar..?

Man that does bite--I had the same issue on my 00 I ended up putting spacers on the rear from spidertrax.

The vibration is only from 20 to 30 mph after that it's fine.  The pinion and rear drive shaft look pretty straight so it can't be off by much.

The Pro-Comp bar has a heim joint on the axle side that doesn't fit in the factory location.  The bar is made to be used with a bracket (not included).

4WD Hardware told me the bar is only good for 3in lifts and higher.  Different size lifts require diff brackets that's why it's not included.

The TeraFlex bar fit great and everything seems fine now.

I'm confused by your driveline vibe issue. Do you have a SYE and a CV drive shaft?

If you don't, the pinion should not be straight inline with the drive shaft.

The pinion should be parallel to the output from the TC. That way the angle of the two u-joints will be complimentary to each other. All u-joints cause a vibration. By having two u-joints that have comlimentary angles, the vibrations will cancel each other out.

From what you are describing, you are removing any angle from the rear u-joint. That would cause the forward u-joint vibration to go uncancelled.

Work both the tc angle and the pinion angle together to create a parallel plane.

Factory shaft no CV or SYE.  Maybe I have the pinion set up too high.  I'll dial it down a little and see if it goes away.  Before I put the cams in the vibration was from 25-35 mph now its 20-30.

Does the pinion kick up during acceleration?  I read somewhere that vibration during acceleration means the pinion is too high.  My vibration is definately worse under hard acceleration.

Yes. It moves up. Get an angle finder from Home Depot for $10.

Here is the tech on the subject:

This is good stuff.  The instuctions for the cam bolts were horrible and the tech at 4WD Hardware was about as confused about it as I was.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Thanks.

I know it sound like you want to avoid them, but wheel spacers are the easy answer if you really have to stick with the factory wheels and want to add any amount of lift.

If it means anything I had over 75,000 miles on a set from Spidertrax with zero issues.
