I rebuilt my 80 cj7 last year. Replaced fuel sending unit, installed painless wiring harness, replaced fuel gauge and temp gauge. All gauges worked prior to rebuild. The fuel gauge went to full then would blow the fuse before I replaced the gauge. Now the fuel gauge does not work. Any ideas or suggestions as to what to check, where?????

Sounds like you have a short in the wire between the gauge and the sender... retrace that wire and see if it's still in tact.
So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!
