I volunteered myself and my '97 TJ to the local Red Cross for disaster response. As many of you know much of Wisconsin and Iowa have been deluged with destructive storms.
The Red Cross needs volunteer driver/jeeps to drive their disaster response teams to the various sites. A strong off road resume is necessary here and those with TJs on stock street tires probably won't be of much use.
Flooding is problematic in many of these areas, at minimum we are looking for jeeps on 31s with all terrain or mud terrain tires.
Contact your local Red Cross office and volunteer your jeep and yourself. You built the jeep now use it to make a difference.
If you're near a different Wisconsin or Iowa town give your local Red Cross a ring and leave your contact information. A jeep on big tires with a winch and chainsaw is a very valuable asset after a destructive storm.
In the Madison, WI I need four volunteer jeep/drivers for June 14th through June 21st. If you live near Madison, WI email me at:
gmackler@gmail.com
We'll be picking up disaster response teams and drivin' 'em around to the sites over the next week.
The Red Cross will provide Visa/Debit cards to pick up the gas. Which at $4 a gallon isn't a small consideration when driving a Jeep on large tires all day...

This is a very worthy cause! I commend you for volunteering in this time of need! And I encourage anybody in the area that can to do the same! I would be right there along side of you, as I'm sure the entire Jp staff would be, if we weren't 2000 miles away. Stay safe.
So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!
