A quick background. I have 2 TJ's, an 04 Rubi and an 02 Sport. I had Rubicon Express Quick disconnects on the sport and the stock links on the Rubi. I removed the factory sway bar links from the Rubi and put on the Sport. Now I can't get the nut to tighten back down to finish the install. When i try to tighten it the bolt just spins with the nut . Am I missing something? If anyone has any advice for me I would REALLY appreciate the help. I'm trying to sell the 02 and need to get the front sway hooked back up ASAP. Thanks for your input.

I'm not following... I'm not having trouble with the aftermarket quickdisconnects. I'm having trouble with the stock ones going back on. Its all factory equipment that's given me the headache.

yep, ya took the re kit off of the sport and used it on the rubi. the factory sway bar has tapred holes for the stock ball joint connections.... so the sway bar end holes were drilled to bolt the re sway bar link brackets on with a regular bolts. with the taper drilled out theres nothing for the nut to pull the tapered joint against to tighten it up, it'll just spin and have a bunch of slop in it...
I wish I had a picture for ya there but I don't...

Correcto on that one, I had to drill my sway bar ends out to accomodate the bolt... what a pain. If you want, keep the RE ones and put on some cheap ones. I've seen 'em for around $70 or so. There's one going for cheap on ebay right now if you catch it.

Cheezy pic: /\ is the stock hole. || is the hole you have now. The taper is totally gone, thus nothing to seat against. Even the large side of the taper is smaller than the hole.

Ohh k. I gotcha. I completely forgot about having to drill out the sway bar for the re disconnects. Looks like I'm buying new links. Thanks to everyone.

10 minutes and you could have the whole sway bar off the Rubi and on to the Sport. That's what Mud was sugesting.
