I just installed '06 Rubicon axles in my '99TJ.
Now I have disks in the rear and was wondering how to get my brakes back in order.
I do not have ABS thank god.
Will a stock proportioning valve work out of the '06 Rubicon in my '99?  Maybe just an adjustable one from Summit?
For the life of me, I cannot remember if disks need more or less pressure than drums... I would guess more.

Any help????

I would think the adjustable will work, a stock one would be easier though, just bolt it on and go...you may also want the higher capacity master cylinder also to feed the rear discs...

I've done that already.  I know disks ned more fluid since they have a larger piston compared to the little wheel cylinder.

got 'em on ebay.  payed about 3500 for both axles caliper to caliper.  only thing is converting to disks in the rear and shortening the driveshafts.  stock rubicon brake hoses go for 400-500 each from dealer, used '99 fronts and made them work for $30.

Just came across this thread I am also getting some Rubicon axles, maybe you can help me with your experience. Did you have to order a new front drive shaft, or would a stock Rubicon one work? I should be ok with the rear driveshaft because i am already running a 44 back there, other than the 1310/1330 joint. how about the parking brake, how did that hook up?

Thanks JEFF

Where to start...
I used my stock driveshaft for now, but had to shorten it and am running a conversion U-joint... until more money arrives.  Then I will go with a bigger U-joint to match the axle.
The brackets on the parking brake don't line up, but they hook right up to the new rear disk setup.

Congrats on the sucessful swap. Can you tell me the specifics of the rubi 44 vs the jk 44's? Are they the same except the brackets? What did you swap from?

Big difference between the JK and the TJ Dana 44s, both front and rear.

TJ Dana 44s will bolt right into TJs both front and rear.

JK Dana 44s need all new brackets, but I think for the price, well worth going with JK Dana 44s for your TJ. Bigger and stronger than TJ.

Less than $1500 gets you complete, locker, gears and housing. The only knock is the 4.10 gears that most likely need changed out.

Are they still the same aluminum housing axle with the 30 knuckle on the front? Jk front is very tempting at that price I must say.

I put empty TJ Rubicon housings in my TJ a couple years ago. And yes the axle tubes are the same for D30 and D44. The front knuckles and out are interchangable between the D30 and the D44. The rear D35 brake assemblies go right on the rear D44.

No aluminum, that's ZJ/WJ stuff which is junk for sure.

I filled my housings up with Alloy USA shafts and gears, and OX lockers. It cost me over 2k a piece.

The JK stuff would probably cost that much also after you got the bracket sets and swapped the gears, but they are much beefier (tubes, knuckles, hubs, shafts, pinions).

Thank you for awnsering all my questions. There goes my WLC money.  Well worth it. I think I will be set for med trail use with my 8.8 and soon to be new front. My wife is scared Ill blow up another axle and happen to be 550 miles from home. I can also go to 5.13 front and rear vs the 4.88 I was limited to with the original d30.

New 8.8 brakes. Will a 95 cherokee w/ disk brakes master and proportioning valve swap into my 04 tj? I can get those for free? Sorry figured we were on the topic.

I installed a metering block from a Rubicon when I went to 4-wheel disc brakes.
