most seem to be stamped steel or tube. weight is a factor there so the stamped steal is actually quit strong even though it's in some cases under 1/8" I've had a hard time finding the look and strength also,
the factory bumper, is basicly just for looks, It'll fold like paper.
for the rear swinger, maybe a ez-lift type reciever could be a good start for the mounting of the swing away carrier and box, I've seen a few good idea's there, although I think they might be a bit floppy and rattle.

You're really not going to find any "plans" per say on the internet. If somebody has figured it out they likely want to keep the info for themselves to be able to sell.
What I would suggest is looking at all the models, picking the parts that you want for yours, then start measuring and drawing up plans of your own. If you can fabricate it shouldn't really be a huge undertaking. It will be challenging for sure, but difficult no, for an experienced fabricator that is.
If you don't have much experience fabricating I strongly suggest you buy one. I would hate for your bumper to fail and have your tire/wheel/mount come off and go through the windshield of an innocent minivan on the way to soccer practice.
Keep us posted on your progress!

I built the front and rear bumpers for my CJ 5 out of 2x4 1/4 wall square tubing but I capped the ends and finished it to look good! For the rear I put a 3/4 solid post on the passenger side for a future tire carrier, They are hallow and air tight so that when I get around to putting the fittings on they both will be air tanks! I found the idea online and there were good pictures, If I can't find the link i'll take pictures of mine and put them up here!

Well for the bumper part. Go to your local recycling center. Preferably a big one. See if they have any stainless steel tubing. Get a couple of straight ones around 6ft long. Get an industrial bender and a welder. GET TO WORK. As for the tire carrier same theory.
Well that's what I'm doing. Working for a weld shop has it's perks.

I'm far from done here but a few hours with a torch, drill, hanmmer and a sawzall....I'm gonna put round enclosed lights on the ends of the tub, a hoop and integrate a flat winch plate.
