tf727/999 trannies have linkage that hooks to the throttle linkage to control pressure for your shift point. it controls kick down as well as upshifts. if this is set too loose your shifts will be light and it will also burn up your clutch packs. if it is too tight then your shifts will be hard and it will hold gears too long, but at least it won't hurt clutch packs.

That's a good point. If the tranny does not come back to life with propper fluid level (haven't heard back??), maybe the cable could be part of the problems to the tired guy.
