I have a 79 cj-7 I just bought. It has the quadra trac,and a th400 in it, and Id like to swap in a dana 300 transfer case. anypne have any wisdom to share on this plan. Am I gonna need to swap rear axle, or front?
I noticed the drivelines are pretty much inline front to rear. Is this a feasable swap.

You'll need an adapter for the TH400 and the rear axle should be swapped out for a centered diff axle. Should be easy to find a '76-'81 narrow-track CJ AMC 20 for a bolt-in swap.
