where can i find a new set of pre cats for my 03 with a 4.0? i have replaced the main cat with a heavy duty one. replaced all the o2 sensors, and i am still getting the trouble code p0432. went to a mechanic shop and was told it was the cat. i assumed this meant the big one not the pre cats. now with almost all new guts on my exhaust, and resetting the computer after every adjustment made the only thing left would be a pre cat. so all you googlers and engine goo roos plz help me locate these items without having to spend an arm and a leg to fix this problem.

Most of the time the sensors in the exhaust system indicate a symptom. Usually the last thing in the true/false chart to fix the problem is replace the sensor. This seems to always be the first thing people want to replace. There are so many things that can be wrong. Sometimes it's a dirty air cleaner or a mass airflow sensor that just needs to be cleaned that sets a code making it seem like something is wrong in the exhaust system. By far the cheapest way to fix your car is to do diagnostic work... and that takes test equipment. Do your self a favor, take it to a good shop that CHARGES for diagnostic work. It's the best money you can spend. Should only be $75 to $100 and you won't be guessing and spending!!

This code is saying that your downstream (after cat) O2 sensor on Bank 2 is providing essentially the same reading as the upstream (before cat) O2 sensor on Bank 2. Therefore, the ECU believes that your cat is no longer doing its job. So, you either have a bad cat or possibly a bad downstream O2 sensor on Bank 2. But do diagnostic work before replacing stuff. A good shop is your friend not your enemy.

Also, the dealership might help. It has a powertrain warranty for 7 years or 70,000 miles and a federally mandated emissions equipment warranty for longer than that.

i have already plugged in and was told it was the catalytic converter i have replaced that and now i have the same issues. all i need to know is where do i get the pre cat assy. i cant find them anywhere. that is the problem. i saw the mechanic plug it in and read what his little devil box said. main bank 2 catalytic converter. where do i locate this item? Or if i just swap to straight headers with the new heavy duty cat on there will i still have the same fuel economy?

How many miles do you have? The stuff you're working might be covered under warranty. I know of people that have had the dealer replace from the header back to the muffler for no charge (under warranty). Even waiving any diagnostic fees.

Goto jeepsareus.com. Click on the TJ pic. Use the search in the banner and type 1jwe. $350. I've bought stuff here and they are legit. It really is MOPAR stuff.
