k finished the suspension lift on my 95 YJ yesterday.

I choose to do the 2" add-a-leaf
and 1" lift shackles
with Rough Country 3" Hydro Shocks

The most difficult part was working with all the old bolts.  Some were rusted in there tight.  Actually had to take the sawzall to the OEM shackles, because whatever genius put together the truck put the top bolt on the rear shackles inside out, meaning i had no possibility of removing it thanks to the gas tank.

So yes if your planning on doing some type of lift such as this DEFINITALY have some type of sawzall, with many blades.

The most difficult part was getting the leafs, shackles and torsion bar all situated together in the front.  The way it was designed on the 95 YJ was so that there was little to no room to be able to get all 3 situated, it took alot of tapping, and leverage to get it all lined up.

I DID put a drop pitman arm in.  But not before i drove it to see how bad the vibration was.
and i DID put a transer case lowering kit in because the angle on the U joints on the drive shaft were extreme.

If anyone has any questions about this let me know, in all i think for 3"+ it cost me 450$

well thanks for the heads up on the shackles. i plan to swap mine out for the greasable variety some day. should i buy stock in sawzall blades now? looks like i'd have to back the bolts out then cut them off and pull them out. i think the engineer was hung over when he did that one.

For getting on and off I mean... they work really well, but every set I've ever taken on or off a truck/jeep have been a royal pain...

yea the leaf springs were the headache.  Easily took an hour to shimmy them into place with that torsion bar.

Yea i was amazed at the shackles.  Gosh darn Hardened bolts took a sawzall blade a piece to get through.

But damnnnnn does she look so much better with that lift

hey how do i post pictures of her on here?

oh and By the way for anyone who is putting a lift in a YJ............SPEND THE DOUGH AND GET THE TRANSFER CASE LOWERING KIT.

I drove mine for 3 days before putting it in, vibration up the wazoo.  Put those two silly bars in there in 30min. and she feels as smooth as stock.
