I have a 1952 (sort of) Willys.  It has a Buick V6, CJ 5 Differentials, International Scout power steering pump, tilt steering from who knows what - all from 70's vehicles.  The previous owner said it had a Super T 10 Chev transmission and the Spicer T18 transfer case.   The numbers on the tranny say T10P - 1B and W.G. Division.  The numbers on the transfer case say 18-15-18 and 12 - A - 1 and W.G. Division.  W.G. Division on both suggests the same manufacturer, not Spicer and General Motors.

Can anyone help out?

Thanks - gp

There are more numbers on the transmission.  You need to get up in there with a flashlight and check the driver side behind the case cover (behind as in to the rear of the vehicle, not underneath the case cover. There should be a 6-character number stamped into the case starting with "W" for Warner gear.  The next letter will correspond to the month the tranny was manufactured. Then there'll be four numbers: the day of the month, the year, then the production shift.

The T10P-1B number for the T-10 is just the number for the case. Doesn't really tell me much. That tranny was made from '57-'87, so it could be anything really. Regardless, I doubt it's a Super T-10 because they have the prefix "ST-10" and not just T-10.

There are kits to mate that tranny to a Spicer 18, but the W.G. Division is clearly Borg Warner, so it's possible somebody used the Texas pattern Spicer 18 t-case to mate a BW full time case in there.

A photo and some more numbers will really go a lot farther in helping me identify it for you.  Plus some more info - is it aluminum, steel, both, etc, etc.

The shift linkage is on the side.  The casings appear to be aluminum.  I will put a magnet to them and I need to scrape the peeling paint to find more numbers.  I will let you know. I'm also not sure how to attach a photo.  I'm new to the site.  Thanks guys.

It is important to note the material that the transmission casing is.  Borg-Warner made an aftermarket transmission that was given the letters T10P-1B.  This transmission is referred to BW-AS9-T10 which if it is an iron case is  an aftermarket transmission manufactured from 1979-1981 or around there.  If it is the iron, it also has nodular 904 case with nickel gearsn and can be identified by a small dimple drilled into the side of each gear.  This transmission was known as the "Power-Brute" which was inteded for drag racing purposes only.  GM made this change due to warranty issues due to the aluminum stretching with the extreme low 1st gear.  Advance adapter is your best bet for getting an adapter for this, but you can also try novak.com.  I run the Power-Brute with a dana 20, which is a more stout transfer case, but my adapter # is 1103.  I'm currently trying to locate a bellhousing that will adapt this tranny to a LQ9 (LS1 Gen III 6.0L) but due to the odd setup of the transmission mounts versus the standard T10, it is merely impossible.  Let me know if you have any information.

The magnet stuck.  It's iron.  There is also an 1103 on the casing.
