I just bought a 95 yj with a 4" skyjacker lift and stock tires.
I want to put on a set of 33x12.5-15. The skyjacker tire fitment chart says to use a 8" rim with 3.75" of backspace with this tire. It seems like a small rim for a 12.5 tire, but I'll let you guys tell me.
If I have to switch my yj flares for tj flares, am I better off getting a 7" wide flare and using a 10" rim? There is no cost difference in stepping up to the larger flare and rim. I'd just like to use what is going to work best on the Jeep.

the 8" rims are recomended by most manufactures for a 12.5 and the 3.75 is also good to go.
I prefer the 8" unless I run wider than 13.5"

Thanks for the info.
How about the stock yj flare? Will it work or do I need to switch to a tj? If so, is the stock tj flare large enough?
