Leaving my 96 XJ all stock for now, but needing a new set of tires. I'm 99% onroad so street tires it is.

Here's what's been recommended to me so far...

Michelin XC LT4
Fortura Tripple Tread
Wrangler Silent Armor

Gotta stay away from the Michelins because of the price. I'm looking for a higher mileage tire like the Fortura or Silent Armor that's effective in snow. Right now the SA is looking good.

Oh yea..really like to get something that's 9.50 - 10.50. I've got the stock 5 spoke alloy 15s. Any more suggestions? Thanks yall

They are all really mild tread patterns but if I were to choose between them I'd go for the Goodyear Silent Armor.

I've had the Goodyear silent armor or at the time they called it the a/ts I believe and it was a good tire for the street with good wear on a 3/4 ton pickup I use to have.  So I would probably choose that one out of the three that you have choosen there.

On a seperate note for your 90% on road, bfg all-terrains.  I have them on my wrangler and currently have over 40k miles on them with 14/32's left out of the original 19/32's and as a note minimum tread depth of probably most states and all is 2/32's.

Well that's my 2 cents and do what cha want, good luck.

Thanks mc. Looks like I'm going with the Wrangler SAs. They seem to be the best balance of performance and price for me. Some have said they'll wear out fast, but seeing as how I drive so little hopefully tread wear won't be an issue. We'll see...

I'd still go with a BFG AT... but that is me... I love their on road handling and they look great too.

But, if I had to choose from your list it would be the Goodyears.

So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!
