Ok here's what I'm wondering I have a Dana 30 front and a Dana 35 rear and I just got the Chrysler Service Manual for my 1998 Jeep Wrangler. So I'm flipping through the pages and I come across the Differential and Driveline chapter and I have three types of axles.

Front Beam-design Iron Axle
Rear Beam-design Iron Axle
Rear Beam-design Iron Rear Axle

How do I know which one I have? I read the General information but I'm still not sure.

The rear axle is either a Dana 35 or it could be a Dana 44 if your Jeep was ordered with the optional limited slip. Take a pic of the diff cover, post it up and I can tell you for sure which one you have.

I have a Dana 30 front and a Dana 35 rear I wasn't on of the lucky ones to get a Dana 44 but I was morn interested in if they were a Front Beam-design Iron Axle, Rear Beam-design Iron Axle, Rear Beam-design Iron Rear Axle. Thanks for the help.

Well, I imagine the "Front Beam-design Iron Axle" is your Dana 30 front. And the other two are breakdowns of the Dana 35 and 44. There really is no difference in description. Rear Beam-design Iron Rear Axle and Rear Beam-design Iron Axle? Both sound like straight axles to me. There are not two versions of the Dana 35. Only a Dana 44 and 35. So look at the exploded views and see which applies to your Jeep. The Dana 35 will have C-clip axles in the drawings and the Dana 44 will have semi-float axles (bearings pressed on the shafts).
