I have a hammering sound comming from the front left. I think I have an axle joint going out. Where can I get parts for this jeep? I don't know what type of axle I have. It has an odd round knuckle and no lock-outs. I know that they came with multiple options. There is a tag on it, but it only reads 39/8. Any help or links where I could go would be appreciated. Thanks

The tag reading 39/8 is your ring and pinion ration. That means you have a 4.88:1 gear ratio in your truck, front and rear. (they have to be the same) I am pretty new to this, and I get alot of answers (and parts) from Kaiser-Willys Auto Supply (www.kaiserwillys.com) and from www.willysoverland.com. They specialize in earlier jeeps, like the willys and kaisers. They have provided alot of help with my 62 cj. If your front axle is stock, it should be a Dana 25. As far as specificly what is wrong,   I am not that good yet! but hopefully these websites will
