Hey ive got a 95 YJ

I love the look of the smittybuilt rockcrawler bumper, that has that 20deg foward angle with lights on the top.

No matter where i look, i see Offset Hoops for TJ's.  And these supposedly mount to the original TJ Bumper.  

What i want to know is what is the difference between the TJ and YJ bumper, because id like to get one of these Offset Hoops with light tabs on it, and mod my stock YJ bumper so it could fit.

**Im handy, and im definitly not afraid to drill through my bumper to fit the hoop.  Just want to know the difference between TJ and YJ Bumpers......???

OK, I just walked to the driveway. I have a 1992 YJ and 2002 TJ sitting out here. My YJ has custom bumper and winch and tow bar with clevis loops etc. my TJ is bone ass stock. (its my wifes). the mounting holes are slightly wider on the YJ and the TJ has the sway bar on top the frame in front of the grill. the bumper bolts from front to back are real close on the TJ. so it looks like mounting to the frame is the difference.  

so what your saying is that the TJ's frame is slightly narrower then the YJ, so therefore if i were to purchase a TJ Bumper Loop, i would have to rig up some sort of mounting situation, so that i make it slightly farther apart to fit the YJ?  

so curiosity took over, and i ran outside and measured,   from bolt to bolt on top of my 95 YJ bumper is 31".

So maybe if you can measure the TJ bolt to bolt distance, i can see what were working wiht.


I think the biggest problem is i cant find a Bumper Hoop for a YJ.
