I dont actually own a jeep, yet, but i might by the end of the weekend. Ive got a little experience with jeeps, my dad had a 03 TJ on 33s before he died, and my fiancee has a 08 Jk rubicon 2 door white with the six speed and a gibson exhaust. Anyway, ive been looking for play toy, a beater, trail rig, whatever you want to call it. There is a 74 Cj-5 Renegade in town for sale thats in REALLY good shape, they want $4500 for it. Its got maybe 31s on it, its brown, only has a bikini top, and they guy selling claims its a levi edition, it has the decals, but he said the denim seats were removed a long time ago. Even if its not a real levi edition, i dont care, im just wonderin if its a good deal. I havent got to drive it yet but he said the 304 v8 runs great and the ony thing that doesnt work is the gas gauge. If i do get it i want to run 35 inch boggers, how much lift do i need for those tires to clear?

do you kno that the jeep your wanting to buy is probly a collecters item. might want to put some thought into that before you chop and beat it up.

Yeah i know it would be a collectoars item, if it really is a levi edition, but you wont find many nice cjs here in north ga that arent rusty or expensive. There was one for sale near me a while back that was a mostly restored cj7 with a 350 that sold for $14,000 in about 2 weeks, so you gotta understand that i dont wanna pass up on a good jeep. Another question i got is about a diesel swap. My ram 3500 has a cummins and i love having a diesel. What would fit, are there any diesels that are even close to the right size, other than a nissan diesel? I doubt that me and my friends could pull off a swap like that, but im just curious.

even if its not a levi edition and aint rusted out and hasnt been restored. to me that would still be a collecters item. but to each his own i wouldnt tear it up but ur paying for it so go ahead.
