Comparing CJ's to YJ's (OK). YJ's to TJ's (OK) but when you compare them to a 4 door wranglerhummer, that's a joke."

So does that mean you would only wave at a 2 door JK but not a 4 door?? Or are you saying the JK is not worthy of a wave at all?

1st Jeep, '79 CJ-7 with AMC 360, TH-400 Tranny, front & rear D44's, 4" susp. lift on 33"s. *sold*

It must truly be a Jeep thing because I don't understand...

A Jeep is a Jeep, Wrangler a Wrangler, weather or not it's a YJ TJ JK whatever. If the person had enough brains to buy a Jeep (as long as it's not a Compass) they deserve the wave too.

So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!

4-door JK's freeze their butts off in 16 degree weather just like every other Wrangler.
So you better wave!

the 4 doors are worthy of a wave, just don't look to get one back. of all the jk's i waved at 2 & 4 door, i only got a return wave from the 2 door

After getting my first jeep last year I notice the waves starting. I'm more than willing to give a wave back at any time I get one. Just because your starting out with some stock POS or even a brand spanking new JK shouldn't make any differnce. You just have to think for a second their JEEP has the same roots yours does. So if you don't get that jeeper wave I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I had a guy in a 4 door JK, roll the window down and wave. It was 20 degrees and running about 70. I have had some 2 and 4 doors not even wave, give me the finger, nothing. I wave at all of them. even the compass.

Ok so the JK's are following suit as all model's have.Being picked on by the rest. Like a newbie entering into a new unit, it needs to take its licks and show it will stay around. What about the Snobbish Jeepers who don't wave because your not jacked thru the ceiling, or haven't put your entire paycheck into it?
As far as the wave, I always pay attention to the driver, you can always tell of they wheel or not. A Jeep is a jeep.

so far i've noticed that the four door crowd for the most part doesn't get it, and probably doesn't care. something's wrong when you see some poor dude driving a jeep wearing a tie, trying so hard to look cooler than the rest of his buddies in his housing tract in his four door sahara with the shiney fenders that will only get scratched by shopping carts and mini van doors at soccer practice, knowing that the only way he could talk his ol lady into letting him get a jeep was that it had four doors and three seat belts in the back seat, yet never being able to bring himself to taking it further off road than the occasional dirt parking lot for fear that his off road machine might suffer a scratch that won't buff out. better stick a snorkel on it, might have to run through a deep puddle a the bank parking lot! however, we're thinking about trading in the 05 grand cherokee on the 08 four door rubicon to haul the kids around in and wheel a little, but my tj stays. all in all you can usually tell when a jeep deserves a wave, four door or not.

i bought my yj last year and quickly caught on to the wave, but ive noticed i really cant get a wave back from any jk owners. unless they're real jeepers they just dont seem to have the same appreciation. maybe its because they attract different crowds (face it isnt that what jeep wants? the more people they can attract the more jeeps they can sell). but i plan to keep waving to the jk's like every other jeep so maybe one day one of them will ketch a glimps out there window to see a wave while they're texting or doing there nails.

aside from the jk non-wavers, i waved at a guy who had a beutifully restored ww2 jeep.....no return wave. but then again, his hands might have been frozen to the wheel, no top in 30 degree weather.

My husband laughs at this, but... There are two categories. Happy Jeeps and Sad Jeeps.  Happy Jeeps have been used the way they were intended to be used, 4 door or 2 door.  Sad Jeeps, are soccer moms and those who never use their Jeep "correctly".. We wave at all Jeeps, but only those with Happy Jeeps tend to wave back.

LOL, this how the "jeep wave" came to be the index finger of each hand pointing up, while still hanging on for dear life to the top of the wheel..........I think.

For some Reason I think everyone that owns a jeep should get  a nice little scratch or dent and not be scared to wave.
