Hi I am a newby and I have a question. It seems almost next to impossible to find replacement battery cables for my 98 TJ. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks do you have to put the connectors on or do they come already put together? and would you know the gauge or length for a 1998 TJ?

use at least 4awg ground and a 1awg positive. you can measure them for the length. you'll be able to get them pre made close to the length you need.
I use O and 1/0 wire myself.

you can put your own battery cable clamps on cant think of the proper name but that should work. any way probly cheaper if you make them your self.

not make them yourself but put the connectors on the clamps usally are you slide the cable in and tighten the two blots down pretty simple.

Yeah, make your own.
@Mudb8... 1ga pos? Dang man... the only thing I've even got 2 ga on is my 715. How'd ya arrive at the 1ga thing?
Normally, I use good 4ga and replace the battery to underhood fuse block, the battery or fuse block to alternator, and the battery to starter. I also normall replace the engine to battery ground and the battery to engine or body ground.
I always have issues with more than 4ga attaching to the back of the alternator.

I should have worded it a little different there...I'd use 1awg for the batt to the starter, at least 4awg....it makes a difference. the larger cable gives my weak GM diesel starters a longer more productive life span, same has worked for the jeeps.
for a 100-150amp system the 4awg is the minimum requirement for about 3 1/2-5ft in length....60-100amps is 6awg.
like using a cheap pair of jumpers compared to good ones.
