Hello I just bought my first jeep, a 88 cherokee with lift and bigger tires already on it. Now please dont flame me i did the search found some info but I am trying to find out how to determine the amount of lift that was put on the rig, I saw a old posting that stated to figure 1" lift for 1" bigger then stock tires but i dont know what size the stock tires were on this year cherokee. The current lift easily clears 33s so i am guessing maybe 4-4.5 somewhere in that ranged, is there anyway to get a exact measure other then just putting on a new lift?

If yor XJ easily clears 33s it's probably a 6.5" lift, if it's any smaller they would have had do cut the fender wells some. I believe the original size tires are 215/75/r15, check the sticker (if it's still there) on the inside of your driver's side door it should say on that.
