fox 10 inch coilovers,383 stroker,almost all homemade
first i want to say this is my first ever project(which i still need to name it,ideas??) i have never painted, did body work welded or fabercated before this i have no help from anyone and am self tought on this so, i will not feel bad if it/me get shot down i will only learn from it. i think im doing ok because when i do something that i dont like i tear it off and start again.

heres some other pics i have:
this is the test fit of the stroker
,

these two are from the rust damage in the same spot,

heres the body welded back together.

heres the first thing i made welding, yes im a hillwilliam, its a rotissery that i made out of two motor stands, not bad for under 150.00 and i think i can weld better now but not bad for self tought out of a book.

yeah, jeepnut it should be good, I saw the pics of the start of the project back in july sometime...I couldn't find the tread but the title is "how long will it last?"..well thats close for sure anyhow..
refering to a d35 behind a sbc 383, theres a few pages of posts to so I thought It would be easy to find, if you dig it up post a reply so gets cycled to the top..just as a gues these pics are in a private album so they're not posting, or got moved to another album, I only missed him by a half hour this morning too!

theres a few pics there,... I've been wondering for a while how this ones been going!

looks like its gonna b a tough rig. not bad at all for self taught. i only noticed one thing that i might change. the lower mount of your coilovers. i would put it on top of the axle. so it didnt want to put any extra twist force on the axle. if you notice with regular springs (coil and leaf) there all mounted on top of the axle. just my 2 cents. looks good though.

will work for jeep parts!

I am starting a commando project and like the looks of your shock make up.  I was thinkink of shock hoops but like yours better.  What brand are your shocks and were they very "pricy".  If this is your first project I am impressed that you under took one in such a large scale.  Good luck on the rest of the build, but let me know about the shocks, please.  Thx, tom

i found this guy on ebay, i wanted something else(air shocks) he found out i was going on the street too and then he refused my order and refunded my money didnt try to up sell so i called him and asked why and what would he use?

Here is the Invoice for the following:
(2) Fox Shocks 10" Travel Emulsion # 980-99-004-A
(2) Hypercoil Springs 10" Length and 2.5" I.D. and 250 lb. rate
(2) Hypercoil Springs 10" Length and 2.5" I.D. and 300 lb. rate
he asked weight of jeep, angle of shocks what drop i wanted then he custom valaed them assembled them shipped to my door complete within 1 week for 708.00. could i find them cheaper? i dont know. sometime the people you deal with make it worth it.  hes a one man show not a shop. heres his number/name. (im sorry if im not allowed to post this , please let me know.)
619-250-8124 ,Sonny
i made the top mounts with a shoebox then tranfered that onto 1/4 inch plate, now that there done, they were easy. the crossmember is my third one, before i liked it.
the lower mounts for the coilovers were put there with the shocks at a 15 degree angle because they fit without cutting into my tubs. i did plan on my front to go on the top. is this a bad idea??
MUDD you really got me there i thought man, i suck with computers i really dont think i put put on of my dog on there. ???huh???

lol.. ya, I put the dog in there! when I saw the post none of the pics were visible, an I really wanted to see your progress, o an I didn't catch on to the fake tats untill you said they were!...whistle at the wife for me to!

It would probably be better on top like jeepnut4life pointed out, although it'll work how you have them, also you'll gain a little more travel unless it already reaches to the limits of the arms.
