I HAVE A 1986 J20 W/ THE AMC 360 727 NP 208 SETUP I WANT TO CHANGE MY TRANSFER CASE TO A GEAR DRIVEN CASE SO THAT I CAN TWIN STICK IT. I BUILT THE TRUCK FOR MUD BUT I AM STARTING TO DO SOME TRAIL AND LITE ROCK CRAWLING. THE CASE I HAVE IS A DRIVER DROP SO MY OPTIONS ARE LIMITED TO EITHER A DANA 300 W/ FLIP CASE , FORD NP 205 OR AN ATLAS ANY INFO WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL

those and one more the eb "early bronco" had a gear driven dana 20 driver side drop. also the 1/2 ton fords have borg warner tcases i thinks one might be gear driven im not a ford guru so i dont really kno. the only weak link in the 208 is the chain. they used 208's in the 5 1/4 ton chevy military pickup and military blazers. so it cant be all that bad i have one in a dodge ramcharger and i have put it through hell and still kicking knock on wood.

the 208 is very durable, the 205 is heavy and has a poor low range ratio. If you've got money to spend go with the atlas case
