35x12.50x15 Tires using a Black Diamond 3" Lift. 6" Bushwacker Flares were trimmed 1" all the way around. Gives me 28" of travel height on front wheel before anything rubs on rear. Not perfect, but will work for now!!!!

Looks really good. I like your half top as well. That has to warm up quick in the winter.

Yea 1/2 cab is nice & warm. Also allows a little more versability with the jeep.

Nice! Big tires little lift like me got a 2in RE lift with 34x10.50 LTB's. Got to extend the bumpstops a little more and gonna add longer shocks so I'll get the articulation without the higher center of gravity.

I'm finishing up on my cj8 project and all ready have another, 72 Commando, in the building. Question on your 35" tires. When you say you trimmed 1" all the way around, what exactly are you refering to. By the picture it is a little hard to tell. Are you saying you trimmed 1" from the wheel well, or somewhere on the flair? I have a set of Goodyear 35x12.5x15 on 15x10 rims, and think I need to put a spacer. I want something other than the stock flair. I only put a !.5" body lift when I did my frame off, and have no susp. lift, may wish I had put one on. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thx. cj8tw

TJ with the 3" Black Diamond lift, I trimmed 1" off the 6" Bushwacker Flares. No body trimming. With the 15x10 wheels, and if I measured correctly 4" Backspace, The tires tuck into the fender flares and touch the body & flares at the same time. They only touch however, after I lifted the front tire off the ground 28". I have no rubbing issues Otherwise. ( I.e. turning @ full radias.)

sweet, another half inch longer bumpstop should take away the rub completely if it's hitting what you already have on there,

I love the function of the big tires/low center of gravity, but the look just kills me. I guess growing up with the big lift/big tire combination made me this way but I don't think you can beat the look of a 6-9" lift with 37's.
It hope it doesn't sound like I'm putting you down, I really admire your ingenuity.

04Rubicon04 No drive line issues with the tires, as everything stayed in same alignment. Did have front driveline issues when I installed my 3" lift. Had to rebuild my cv joint to fix problem, as the ujoints had worn into a pattern after 70,000 miles. Tried the transfer case drop that came with the lift originally, but it was much worse. Only problem is the 4cyl under the hood. Drives and runs out fine, but 5th is obsolete, and you don't want to pass. Road wise, the bigger tires drive way better than the 31x10.50x15 I had on. Tires I put on are bfg at ko 35x12.50x15. Way more stable on cornering, and don't seem to grab ruts at all. Been a while since I could take my hands off the wheel. I guess I can live with the power for awhile, as this summer the 5.3 vortec goes in.(MORE POWER, uH, uH, uH)
