i got the same mileage.. same kind of heavy foot.
I thought I'd mention the hood lift, in the event anyone is left scratching their heads. I had mine for about 2 months before I witnessed the hood lift. i happened to be doing about 80mph on a back road when a semi passed the opposite way... and it nearly scared me out of the cab. While there is no mention if this has persisted or was addressed, I'm curious. It is a very common issue with many of us who got our JKs early on.
I used a small peice old scrap, a peice of vacuum hose and 2 zipties to provide a "primary latch" for the hood. It has worked flawlessly for the last year. Others have added a large rubber hose under/behind the rubber "seal" at the front of the hood to prevent air pressure from getting under... removing the spring.. (pain in rear, I say) and those with access to a machine shop have fabbed up some very nice looking solid latches that replace the entire rubber strap assembly.

also, as a note for the 241OR 'case... it seems to work great behind my auto.... going forward. but in reverse, it definitely does not produce enough tire speed to clear out the tires and the engine cant produce enough bottom end grunt to spin them in high range. particularly in THICK mud.

It's probably to do with the hood actually being held down by two heavy rubber bands with a safety catch (in the middle front under the hood). My 04 TJ has a slight hood lift on windy Texas days or when at a high rate of speed and also when passing oncoming traffic at a high rate of speed. Now my hood only lifts maybe a max of a inch if that. I've had no problems with my hood in regards to lift since having it for @ 4 1/2 years and 75k miles. (Rocks and road debris are another subject but adds character to the Jeep).

Daystar is making poly replacements for the hood rubber bands now. I saw them on the Daystar JK, and they are much stiffer than even new stock ones. I didn't have it up to 80 mph... but the hood was on there solid.
