Had a 89 yj with a flow master. I loved it and had alot of people want to know if I had a V8 in mine.

banks is kinda loud if you want loud banks is good. quality and price is a good thing about banks. magnaflow is great if you can afford it. if your just replacing the muffler get a 5"x8"x18 magnaflow for it the muffler only is about 60-80 bucks.

I know JP did a intake "shootout", but have they done an exhaust? I can't find it if they have.

I think they did about 6 or seven years ago. Flowmaster was the winner if I remember correctly. Lot of cob webs in there. Reason I remember something about it is becouse I was looking for exhaust at the time. Course I may just be full of POOOOOOO. Would be a great article to revisit.

I don't remember what series mine is, It's not a flow through. I called them and asked what they recommended, and thats what they sent me. I noticed the power difference right off the bat, but the deep sound didn't come till after the banks headers.
I have a flow through cherry bomb on my '73 CJ5 and it sounds almost as good as the TJ!
On the TJ I still have the stock size exhaust tubing, I bet that will help even more with both power and sound!

thanx for the input , i found a funny place to hear what different exhaust set ups sound like. its crazy but i went to you tube and just typed in " Jeep with header and muffler" and believe it or not there are people that put video on there of what there Jeeps sound like with different exhaust systems. kind of cool. not a bad research tool. I think i remember a header and flowmaster combo that sounded pretty sweet.
