I want to swap to a wide track axle/ thinking Dana 44.  From what I have read on other forums, I should shoot for a Dana 44 from a 74-79 FSJ Cher/Whaggy.  Does anybody know if these axles are flanged or tapered.??  What would be the splines, inner and outer??  From what I have read these axles are about 58" surface to surface.  Will have to either, widen the frame or widen the spring locations.  Plan to perform a YJ(2.5") spring conversion, as well as spring over at the same time.  Am I on track.. Could anyone lend a hand??
