I say air or manual, some mistake the tj rubicon locker thinking they are electric, they are not. well, ok 12v's run the 2 electric pumps that run a locker that requires only about 7psi, not 70 to actuate the lockers, i'm getting off topic here, the wires on the diff are for the idiot light on the dash.

...However, the '07-up Rubicon lockers are indeed electric. Not air operated.
If I have a choice, I like a cable or no switch at all (automatic).

its hard to beat the peace of mind you get from e detroit locker, depends on how you use it, and how much hype you take in.

there are three distinct types of selectable lockers... there's the ox locker ( my favorite) that's got a solid cable running into the cab for actuation... then there's the E-Locker... that has an electronic actuator inside the axle to activate the locker... then there's the air lockers... a small electronic compressor with an air line running into the differential to activate the locker... each has it's own pro's and con's my vehicle will most definately get an OX locker up front... and a spool in the rear... just something to be said about a solid piece of cable instead of a little plastic switch... especially when you look at how easy it is to cut an air line or two little wires... and if the air line or the wires get accidentally cut then you no longer have a locker...

I have been running an ARB air locker up front in my TJ for almost 6 years (the same one) and have never broken or cut an air line! I do my fair share of romping through the tall weeds and small trees (haha) and have no problems to date. I zip tied the tiny airline to the vent hose that is already there so if one goes they both go. I love the fact that it's not noticeable on the road but yet fully locked off road!

when I buy I will buy an ox locker but I do like the ideal of tracing an eledtrical problem instead of an air problem. personally I think if not cable go electric. it just seems like it would be easier to diagnose a problem.
