I have a 2004 TJ Sport.  I am wanting to put the Skyjacker 2" spacer lift. With that lift can i fit 33x10.5?  and how bad does it affect my MPG???  with 4 bucks a gallon approaching us, i cant afford a huge change....

yeah, they will fit and articulate without rubbing with the addition of longer bumpstops upfront.

the mileage will stink and it will have no power without also going to a 4.88 gear with a auto tranny,... 4.56 for a 5spd manual and a minumum of a 4.10 for a 6spd.

I have 33x12.50 on my 06 LJ and yeah the mileage isn't very good, but owning a jeep we all know the mileage is going to stink.  If you keep the 10.50" width you shouldn't have any problems with rubbing like mudb8 said.  I ran into problems when I changed wheels with a different backspacing and ran the 12.50" so I had to go a little higher to clear them.  I am looking at new gears now also.

here's the reasoning for the different gears for the trannies......

42rle auto has a            .69 OD ratio
ax-15 has a                 .79 OD
the 6 spd is a              .84 OD ratio.

I have an 06 Wrangler X with the NSG370 6 speed.  When I upgraded to a Dana 44 rear, I went with alloy axles, Detroit locker and a 456 ring gear.  It put it back to stock revs although it now runs on 33x12.5x15 thornbirds.  I take off in 2nd unless I'm on a hill.  However, the mileage does suck at less than 15mpg.  I have to run my tires at 20psi to get a decent ride.

the 4.56 would also be my choice there,
you must have had 4.10's if it put back to he stock rev's...some x models have a d44.

That's cool, a pic of Mater.  I'll post a pic of my Mater when I get back to the states from Bagram AFB, Afghanistan.  It did come with 3.73's and a dana 35 rear axle.  My Detroit Locker works nice, but did take some getting used to on the street.  It will pop when it disengages.  I have a Detroit True Trac up front in the Dana 30.  It works well.

yea, bigger tires will knock off some mileage.  I went from 30" to 35", 4.56 gears, Borla cat back and headers, live wire ignition system with scream demon coil and netted 1 mpg loss on my 98 TJ with the 4.0 AX15. On top of that, it feels just as quick as it did with the 30" tires and 3.73 gears. I can live with that.
