I have decided to put the 350, 700r4, and 231 in the YJ. Now come the questions.
Will I need a body lift to install these?
Will the stock radiator be big enough? (prolly not!)
Will my crossmember still work?
Are there any problems that I will encounter with this?
Im sure more questions will follow.
Thanks guys

Thanks. I've got the catalog for A.A. I prolly will get my mounts and t-case adapter from them. I need to know if the little things such as radiator, body lift, etc. are going to be ok. I know the obvious, just need help with what might jump up and catch me off guard. I want to do this in a long weekend, so I can't afford for my Jeep to be down for very long.

you shouldn't need a body lift, definately a larger capacity radiator, theres a thread on an electic fan somewhere here that may help, or shoot rawkon a PM, he's the one that has it. I prefer the clutch fan though with a proper shroud.

Thanks, I will give him a buzz. Is this a fairly simple swap or will I be trouble-shooting for weeks and weeks?

Minus a lift, the shop has everything we'll need...I hope. Between me and my partners , I think we are capable. I just never have done this kind of project before. I am not sure on how to adjust the tv cable on the 700. I think thats going to be the tricky part.
How close is a cj 7 frame to a yj? I might try a test fit in the 7 frame to see if the cross member will fit and to measure for my driveshafts. If it will work.

the cable needs to be snug at wide open throttle, it has a lock button for the adjustment

Carb. The year is 69 to 70. Its out of a school bus. 4 bolt mains. Its still up in the air about the heads. Some say camel hump. Some say normal. According to the numbers, it's a 350 with plain ol'heads. The motor is in excellent shape.
What is the difference between a 258 block from a cj and a 258 block from a yj? Will the head from a yj fit a cj block?

the bus heads could be a closed chamber head with a casting mark similiar to what they camel humps, they have 54-58cc chambers and 1.88 and 1.56 or so very small valves, the cam was in the neighborhood of 300 duration, 114 degree lc, and 3.9 and 4.1 lift, it's chevy's 300hp cam depending on heads and cr ratios, I don't have the exact numbers memorized, those are close....
what is the casting number on the heads?
if you can overlook my crude drawing, the top marks are the camel humps, they are not all equal, the lower marks are the early to around 75 350 common castings
