Thanks for asking the question. I have been a Jp subscriber for some time and I enjoy most of the articles. What really gets me into the magazine is when I see other readers ride's and the specs concerning what they have done to them. I like to read how they have performed and what they would change and not change. I would like to see a magazine issue strictly devoted to a bunch of these. It would be nice to see mostly low-cost, over-time build -ups because it appears that is what most of your readers look for. Expensive is nice to dream about but most of us can only afford a one or two mods at a time while we are trying to keep the wife happy with balancing the checkbook. It is always cool to be out on the road or at a parking lot and see how the other person has fixed their rig up. The jeep jamboree articles always seem to have some great rides but not a lot of techincal info. I would like to find somebody who has apparently done it right and try to follow their lead. Thanks again for asking. Keep up the Jp-ing work!!!!

When I was racing MX one of the mags I read had an article where the writer would come ride with you if you asked him to as long as everything was on the up and up. I thought it was cool to read the article because every month he was somewhere with real people on regular trails not just exotic locals and not just Cali. You could go with different clubs to lots of different states and show some of the trails and rigs. Anyway thanks for asking not all mags. care what the readers want they just print what everyone else is printing or testing.

Your Mag and 4 X 4 Garage got me going. I contacted Primedia and found out the 4 X 4 Garage was only published once a year. I already had a subscription for JP and between JP and 4 X 4 Garage... well ya got me off my duff and my ol 72' CJ-5 is outta many, many years of storage and into the rework phase. Since the CJ's rewire began... seems like everyone with a Jeep or off-road rig have come by and needed something welded, repaired or an assist with some type of upgrade.
The previous readers that have mentioned leaning toward the "average person" are on target! We all like to dream and think about "what if"? But... the best way to keep your Mag on the average readers garage workbench, is to ensure he/she can relate with their minds eye and wallet.
The last two years of JP and some other Primedia publication issues are on the bench in my garage. I can honestly say, not one person has come by and not picked one up and used it as an example or a possible goal for their rig.
Finally a Magazine for Jeep Owners covering topics regarding working on Jeeps (From Monster Rigs to Driveway Puppys) and seeing both in action. Both appeal to many of us and the inspiration provided by you and the staff having put in ink to date has inspired this reader to excess!
HHmmmm, kinda sounds like JP already has something in the works for the average Jeep owner? What types of covert anti-duff methods are your staff really using?
Thanks John, Rev. Robert Anders

Enough rock crawling, super lifted rigs with monster engines. We've been there and can't afford that. How about regular readers junk and homebuilt ideas. More local trails instead of the same ol'popular ones. Budget building is what's important to most of us not the overpriced crap that supports your advertising space. Your guys sell lift kits that cost more than most of your readers vehicles are worth. Those that can afford that stuff are afraid to really four wheel unless a camera is nearby. I'm tired of all the bling. What about safari/expedition rigs. Right now fuel economy and where to play is most important. Add more girls. They like 4x4's too.

I didn't think Jp had much rock crawling or superlifted monsters...? I must be reading a different magazine... lol
So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!

Overall I think your magazine is great because it deals with Jeeps exclusively. Although I read other mags sometimes, knowing how to turbo charge a diesel pickup doesn't help me build my TJ. I like details. I like pros & cons of different options so that I can make the best desicion for my application. I like product reviews that gives an honest assessment of the product. I enjoyed the differential cover shootout article. It was funny and informative. I enjoyed the 'No Lift TJ' article. Most of us can't drop $4,000 on an Nth long arm kit but still want to fit 35's! I would like to see an article called 'Turbo vs. Supercharger vs. Stroker for your TJ' which includes information such as what point (mileage) does it not make sense to add stuff to our 4.0L engines.
I don't care what Bree thinks. I don't mind the pictures so much, though.

Hi JP guys, I'm from Wisconsin and there aren't that many trails here. So i believe that it would be AWSOME if you guys could do an article about trails around the U.S. I know you guys had one before but it seemed like all the trails were out west in california or 16 pages on MOAB. We all know Moab is that best Jeepin trail. i would like to see some "backyard down country" rides. with home built rigs not $50,000 Rubicons that only the frame and body is Jeep. I would love to see YJ's that are worth 8,000$ with basic tools on board, not welders, air compessors, lockers, Dana 60's, and 54 in. super swampers. Like other people ahve said ya its cool to see every know and then but not every single issue. I love the Jeep Shots. Those are the Jeeps that im talking about!!!
Thanks Much,
!Derrick!

This is backwards but, I would like to see upgrads that make my jeep more efficient. I´ve got an old CJ5 and pretty much anything I put in it is goign to give me more power and better performance than what is in there. Maybe some diesel technology. Weren´t there some jeeps made with VM Motori engines? Can those be found anywhere? Also, what about putting some uncommon engine into a jeep. where would you get an adaptor for that? could you have adaptors made? some stuff like this would be awesome.

Maby you could rename the mag to ...GQ JP... to improve the image
And I read all the info on jeeps but can not find any new old info. Go track down a old AMC Exec and have a few and get some dirt that they have not published, history, near misses stuff like that....

Keep the magazine the way it is. I love every issue and still reread them all the time.

I would like to see a how to article on installing a hydralic winch onto a Wrangler, if this can be done. I'd like to get a winch for mine, figure if I'm gonna spend the money, might as well go for something big.
I work to support my Jeep

You know a Comanche project would be great, but thats just me. you could even do something to an xj like you did to the wrangler with 35s and no lift.

i would like to see more driveway built, junkyard sourced, used and abused jeeps, especialy tjs. perfect paint, chrome, and the like belong in a vw magazine. i like clean nice looking jeeps like the next guy, but like the next guy i also can't come close to being able to pay for a pro built pavement queen. i'd like to see parts off of something else that was never meant to be attached to a jeep figured out and used to get performance in an outside of the box sort of way. check out hardcoretj.com a lot of non daily drivers, which doesn't do anything for me, but there are a lot of ingenius ideas that could be applied to something a regular guy with some tools and a drive way could do. i saw instructions on how to do a 3.5" lift on a tj using springs out of a grand cherokee and a crown victoria with the help of a couple other cheap parts! that's what gets me excited. more homemade crap! maybe a section for homemade reader mods, and not the usually reader hints section like the other mags that tell you in detail how to make a cheap funnel out of a soda bottle, but real homemade vehicle modifications that have a potential for some sort of performance. thanks!
