I will be hosting the 3rd Annual Central Valley run. This year we will run the Mirror Lake trail and the Red Lake/Coyote lake trails. It will be on August 8th through 10th.

The plan will be to setup a base camp in the general area of the trails. Then do a run into Mirror lake on Friday. It is only a 1.5 mile long trail, but is extreemly challenging.Especially the climb out.We can spend some time at the lake and fish or swim, then head back to base camp.Saturday morning head into Red and Coyote.Red is a moderate to hard trail but then heads off to Coyote lake, which is very challenging. There is also the Strawberry lake trail to do if you only want mild to moderate wheeling. All these trails originate from one spot. Then Sunday morning all can head for home.I will get some start times as the run gets closer.

I have been asked to find a base camp that will accomidate RVs.This should not be an issue. There are plenty of camping spots near the trail heads. Also you will be able to leave tow rigs here at my place. It is about an hour drive from my place to the trails.

I'm wondering where rhese places are, Mirror Lake, Red Lake, Central Valley run?I just swapped for 72 Commando 304/3sp hardtop.  It's a total rebuild project so may not even be ready by August.  But would like to stay in contact as I made need some help w/ the project.  I'm wanting to build a moderate crawler, nothing to xtreme.  I'm thinking of installing a 4.0 (keeping the 304 for my cj8) but right now the project is still on the trailer. What about YJ spring set up on the commando?  My regular e-mail is cj8tw@aol.com  Any help or comment would be grearly appreciated.  Thx tom

Most of the Jeepster/Commando guys are at www.jeepstercommandoclub.com

That's the club where these runs are originating from.

Hope to see you there.
