I live in southern Ohio and have always wanted a First Generation Jeep Cherokee, Cherokee Chief, or Wagoneer TWO DOOR! I have tried Craigslist and Ebay, but NOBODY has them in Ohio. I was wondering if anybody knows a place that might have them in Ohio? IT MUST BE TWO DOOR!! Not four door. I plan on dropping a Cummins Diesel in to it for some real power!

I heard of a Jeep Graveyard named Daveys Jeeps, but havent called them yet.  

don't know about where in ohio you could find one... but i saw two here in casper a few months back... and as for the cummins idea... dropping it into the jeep is maybe a bit more of a challenge then buying a dodge w/ the cummins and just using the dodge frame/drivetrain... here's mine

WELL I SAW THEM AND 1ST ONE IS A '80-'81 RED 2DR CHEROKEE THE 2ND IS A ABOUT THE SAME YR MAROON WAGONEER AND THE LAST ONE LOOKS OLDER, MAYBE '74-'77 W/ROUND HEADLIGHTS BLUE WAGONEER THAT GOT HIT IN THE LEFT FRT FENDER,NO HEADLIGHT ON THAT SIDE. HAVNT FOUND OUT PRICES AS OF YET CAUSE MY IN LAWS COUSIN WASNT THERE BUT WILL FIND OUT SOON AND KEEP YOU POSTED.
OH AND THEY ALL LOOK TO BE IN GREAT SHAPE FOR WHAT I SAW EXCEPT THE LFT FRT DAMAGE ON THE BLUE ONE.

Well I have two 83 two doors one is a chief with a blown transfer and the other is just a cherokee with a tranny slip.  I live in CO so not much help there but they are out there just keep checking. As for the cummins swap that would be a pretty hard swap. I dont know the fuel price out there but oil burners are paying 430 a gal.  Why not go with a 401 or a 440 or even just a big block chevy. Plenty of power with one of them.  

I know where a 1974 Jeep Cherokee is in North Central WV (which may only be a couple hours away).  The Jeep had 2 owners.  Owner #2 has had it many years; never wrecked.  2 doors, manual transmission; never wrecked. (sort of yellow/gold color).  Still runs - not driven much in recent years due to having other vehicles.  If interested, call 304-629-6198 and leave message.  

the 401 came in some of those old cherokee cheifs... but you'll get 5 mpg... whereas my cummins is getting 20 mpg... even at $4.00 a gal it's still cheaper to run my cummins  

damn, mike 20mpg! you dont happen to have another 5.9 do ya? think diesels the way to go, even if i build my 350 i dont think ill get anywhere near the mpgs your getting.
