Which tire do you think would be the best for a second set of tires for off road playing and weekend duty? Super swamper trxus m/t or thir tsl radials?

If your going for an off road tire I would steer away from the radials and go Bias ply like the IROK. Just my suggestion.

Yeah pretty much off road and weekend duty around town. I am tired of getting stuck with the bfg a/t on the weekends going around the local lakes and trails. Dang red and black clay.

I gotta go along with crawlijuana and the guy's there..swampers, iroks, even boggers...
I you don't really want to do the tire swapping the TrXuS M/T's are the next best thing and still have good manners on the wet and icy hwys..all around they are the best tire I've ever had.

I may be the only one, but I have a set of 33x12.5x15 TSL Thornbirds and they're great off road! I haven't run them long enough to really dial in the air press for on road use, but it seems to run the best on the highway at or around 20psi. I air down to 12psi for the rocks and river bottoms. TRXUS M/T are awesome. Wet traction on road is superior to all other MT available. For that 10% on road you don't want to be worried about cornering of it rains. I am on my second set. Great off road and well mannered on road. These babies can really paint the mud onto my Jeep.

Go with the most aggressive bias-ply tire you can stand (Bogger, IROK, TSL SX...). And then put them on beadlocks and air them down. A lot! They really only work the way they are supposed to at 3-5 psi.

The Truxus is a radial tire. Radials generally need more air pressure to hold up the Jeep and they have weaker sidewalls than their bias-ply counterparts. Most Truxus sizes have only two sidewall plies (some of the larger sizes have 3), all of the bias Swampers (Bogger, SX,... have 4 or 6 sidewall plies. That's why you need lower air pressures.

yep, 2 thick plies that exceed most three ply tires. they are also very heavy. I've ran nearly all flavors that interco offers, unless its gonna spend all of it's time playing on sharp rocks, the trXus is as good as it gets for sidewall strength and durabiliy, In my experience...mounting these things is not an easy task because of the stiff sidewalls.
here's a shot @10psi from a couple days ago, with a shreaded chunk of wood wedged into the bead..

I am running 34 tsl's bias. With no bead locks. What pressure range should I be looking for. I run the hwy and off road with these. What can I get away with?

It really depends on the weight of the Jeep. If you're dealing with a pretty typical lifted CJ, YJ, TJ I'd start around 5-10 psi with your bias-ply tires off-road. See if your driving style and terrain cause the beads to unseat regularly. If so, add a little air or swap in beadlocks. What you are looking for is a good buldge is the sidewall.
On the road I wouldn't run any more than say 10-20 pounds. You want full contact of the tread to the pavement. Too much air will wear the tires out in the center. Run some chalk lines accross the tread and drive forward 20 feet or so in a straight line. If the chalk wears off more in the middle first, dump some more air. If it wears on the sides of the tread add some air. Air up or down till you get a uniform wear of the chalk. That will be the higest pressure I would ever run in the tire, street or off-road.
