I picked up an '08 Rubicon over the weekend with MyGIG and few other bells and whistles. In checking it out, I hit the UConnect button on the console, but the damned thing didn't work. Being that I had thought UConnect was a part of MyGIG, I talked to the dealer to ask what the heck was going on. The dealer told me that UConnect was having problems with hand-free in the Wrangler, so Jeep just shipped it disconnected. UConnect support tell me that they're considering whether to charge us for the software upgrade and harness to hook it back up. Jeep kinda did a crappy thing and removed hands-free from the MyGIG description, but you can find information on ChryslerLLC.com about it. Anyone else have a JK with MyGIG that has UConnect that works? Does Project JK?

we ordered an 08 rubicon and waited 13 weeks for it to get here. then we found out the my gig didnt come with the hands free for the blue tooth. thats was a bunch if crap. now the mygig isnt working right had it to the dealer today and its going back tomorrow. it will not play dvd , cant upload music or pics to the hard drive.

MYGIG will be available with U-Connect for the 2009 MY JK. Should be feasable to add a microphone to your current My-GIG and get U-connect to work. I'm going to try that myself on my Rubicon. Just be aware that the ambient road noise levels in a wrangler can lead to a lot of voice recognition problems. Also check with your dealer for the latest RER (NAV) and REN (non-NAV) radio software. Jeep made a lot of improvements to radio function with post 2008 production software changes.
