Ya thats a shame when someone has a jeep that is all pretty for the road and never see any dirt, when my jeep is coming down the road you know that it handles pretty much any task that I throw at it.

I know what you mean, My CJ is so dirty I forgot what color the paint is. Some freinds of mine and i went wheeling not long ago, one freind of a freind came along with is '06 Rubicon. He's got about $10'000 in lift, wheels and tires, and other aftermarket bolt-ons on it. This was the first time on the trail with it, a tree limb scratched the side of it and he about had a heart attack. Not cut out for wheeling I guess, at least in the jungle anyway.

Dont even get me started. In the area that i live the only reason people buy Rubicons, is because they look cute. I talked to two guys with rubis and they both told me they would never go offroading, they just like how it looks. yupies!

I actually saw a 4 door Wrangler loaded down with teenage girls the other day. They were at the mall and this Wrangler was sporting 22" spinners, this thing had more bling than P-Diddy. It's probably a H2 out there somewhere that will see off road before that Jeep does, Ha,Ha.

I can't bring myself to wave at the 4 door wranglers.  I even find it hard to wave at the wranglers all jacked up that you know will never see the trail.  I definately wave to all CJs

see i get the opposite reaction.. my jeep is beat to hell with a mostly stock paint job that looks like crap and beat to hell from hard use with only 31" tires and 2inch lift thats visible for upgrades and other jeeps sometimes wont wave to be cuz i dont look "pretty" even tho its obveous mine is the one that gets more use... its sickening to me!!

My feeling is I'm waving at the Jeep, not necessarily the driver. If the driver waves back, thats just the bonus. If not, I was waving at the Jeep anyways.

So if you dig the Jeep, Wave. If not, if it's not for the trail, *** it.

Sorry, but i don't consider a 4 door a REAL jeep, it is the FAMILY car.

Kind of the same feeling when i used to drive a lifted, tricked out 4x4 pickup, and then the "yuppies' started buying all those CUTE S-10 Blazers and thought they had a real truck.

You all need to get off your high horse and wave!!
After reading these posts I'm shocked to see how judgemental you all are.
"I" just bought a new 4 dr Rubi a few weeks ago.  My husband sold our chopped and stretched TJ a few years ago and I misssed the 4wheeling terribly.
In the 24 years we've been married we've owned everything from a Suzuki Brute to an Excursion, all of which were built for off road.  We've also owned a CJ5,CJ6,C7, (2) CJ8's, TJ and now a 4dr Rubi.
We've also owned various Cherokees, 4Runners and Landcruisers.
I've wheeled every major trail west of OK (and so will the new Rubi), so please don't judge me before you know me.  Thanks

I don't think you'll need to be judged cause you'll be rolling by in a 4 door and the first to wave!

Oh I'll be the first to wave.  Seems there are a lot of folks hesitant to wave.

I'm sure I'll look more "wave worthy" once my husband installs my new RE 4.5" long arm.  Still picking out tires and wheels, can't decide between MTR's or KM2's.

Should be ready to hit Rubicon by the end of the month.  If your on the Rubicon and see red Rubi "JEEEEP" be sure to wave!!

I know this is an old an old thread, but I've been getting so many waves from 4 doors.   Its odd, I have gotten more from 4 doors than tj's.  granted there tj's w/ hardtops (in jeep weather)
