motor will idle when cold then stalls when warm,
it does not seem to have the normal high idle when
warming up, any thoughts?

any chance its a fuel problem. I've been thinking about your problem since yesterday.
dang....salton sea is a lot of fun. we took the ATV's out there a couple years ago after a race at glen helen.

i would think if it was a fuel problem it wouldnt run
good off idle? the jeep runs great off idle.

I had an Idle control motor go bad on my '99 TJ it's the sensor closest to the valve cover I think! The jeep wouldn't do the high speed warm up but would run great off idle! It would sometimes bog down and stall when warm because this motor wasn't running. The thing about it is that the check engine light never came on so yours could be bad. the sensors are like 90 dollars so you might find a way to check before you go buying sensors!
