na, it'll work with all brands..
it has a brain box that hooks to a constant power supply and one wire to the hand held switch power, one for each direction. It just eliminates the cord.
mine don't like to free spool out easily anymore so I can operate the winch while pulling cable as far as it'll reach.

Don't no about where you guys are at. But down here in Florida we have alot of swamps and water wholes we have to go through.
So in order to keep the controll box dry putting the whole thing in the cab works well. The cordless remote looks like it would be great as well but i would still move the box inside to keep it dry.
WOULD THE LAST AMERICAN IN MIAMI BRING THE FLAG!!!!!! GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.!!! You can say what you want about the South, but you never hear of anyone retiring and moving North...

After having the switch for over a month, I found numerous times when it was an excellent choice. When the guy in front of you is stuck in the snow, and you need to manuver & winch at the same time. Or when you want to hold yourself from slipping on a side hill while driving. So far the in / out right at the finger tips has been great.
ohhhh!! sooo!!! AWESOME

Since my wife was so kind, and bought me a Warn powerplant for my birthday, the in cab switch will not work anymore. Powerplants are sealed, and you can't get to the proper wiring. So for Christmas I asked for the warn wireless remote system. Install was, Velcro, or mount anntenna box under hood. Run wire to winch, and plug into normal control port. "Done". It had to be the simplest install I've ever done, and it works great. Warn however uses a D type plug, which is probable not compatable with winches other than Warn. (On the powerplant, you still have to use your normal remote for air however.) If you have a second winch, as I do mounted on a trailer, its as easy as unplug and replug, to use it on that one as well. Very impressed, and an excellent product for the $125.00.
