what i mean to say is the skyjacker hydro's you can push them in and pull them out very easily, my stock shocks which rode a little bit better push out on their own and are hard to push in. i was told by skyjacker that this is becuase my stock shocks are pressurized.  they told me their nitro shocks are pressurized too and are at 150 lbs of pressure.  i think im going to send mine back and try the nitros, would this be a good idea. these hyros are just horrible. they are just too soft for my street driving i dont really care about offroad i just hate feeling every bump in the road. mud, i know you run the rancho and you say their good. i want a good shock for on road should i try the nitros first becuase they are preussurized and if they dont work try your ranchos or what do you recomend.

also i found a spring compressor. would that make it easier for cutting those 1/8 inch rubber rings out without removing the spring?

please give me as much info as you can on the shocks becuase that is wat im worried about most

I'm not sure what to tell you about the shocks, I would think the nitro's will be stiffer ride?. I always use the mono tubes, I have edelbrock IAS shocks on the burb, they are awesome and smooth for the heavy beast. blistiens seem to be a popular choice also, the tires also contribute to a stiff ride, when you get the 33's on there it will make a difference in the ride.

The first time I took my grandmother fishing in the rubi, about 15 miles from the house she looked at me and said "this aint no jeep, It rides like a car". then proceeded to talk about her sammy and all the other jeeps she's been in before, none of which were TJ's.

if the spring are touching the pad, without the rubber ring there they'll make noise and wear on the springs

i guess im going to try the nitro's i cannot keep going like this its sooo bad. if they dont work i guess im going to send those back and try my stock shocks again. i would rather be bottoming out than riding this rough..

i have the 3/4 coil spacers in thats why i figured i could take out the rubber 1/8th inch pad.

you could but the overload coil will still contact the pad, You can get or make extension brakets for the shocks if your gonna use the stock shocks.

the bar-pin eliminaters give about an inch for the rear, brackets for the front are easily made, I'll scrounge up some pics, in a bit, I have some in my files, just have to look for them,

how much is a bpe worth for the front? also the stock spring pad in the front how much is it worth, ive heard about .5 inch. i was thinking of taking it out and putting in a 1 inch spring spacer because i need about .5" more in the front so if i take out .5 and add an inch ill be gaining .5 of my overall setup.

the stock spacer is close to 3/4"... yeah, that would give you the extra half inch for sure.

the shock mount depends on what kind you get, i've seen some that don't add more than a 1/2"
