I'm new to this so bare with me. I'm pretty handy and can do just about anything , but don't like making mistakes especially when it costs me time or money . I like to save the money for the jeep and the time for the kids. I need good advice on what parts to buy what to look for and what to stay away from. My cj7 has a 360 amc motor a t176 tranny and a dana300 transfer case. It also has dana44 axles front and rear. The driveline is out of a wagoneer i suspect. The leaf springs were moved outside the framerails because of the wide axles ,i dont know if this is common or not.It actually drives good and runs really well I just want the reliability of a chevy motor and need the automatic for chronic knee problems. Any advice on wiring harnesses adapters for the transfer case , and power steering brackets would greatly be appreciated . I will respond quickly . Thanks

im sorry ill argue for the amc 360.as far as reliable, they are.i did an ignition upgrade useing 84 ford 460 v8 coil, wires, cap, rotor, and cap base,4 prong module from a chevy mounted to a old processer cooler from a computer.this gets rid of the fender mount ignition box.re gap plugs to 45th.they make a intake to bolt on chevy tbi but must be reflashed to run right.i love the torque of this engine, wish i could find a 401
