Should Jp Magazine drop the humor twist?

  • I hate humor, it has no place in Jp Magzine.
  • Some of it is a little tasteless.
  • Some of it is a little tasteless but I don't mind.
  • Keep it in as long as it doesn't detract from the tech.
  • Keep the humor, Jeeps are fun and Jp Magazine should be too.

I'd like to actually laugh at the humor.  Some more adult humor would be nice.  Check some back issues  (2-3 years ago).......That is what originally interested me in JP

Humor is good.   I have been a subscriber for a few years now and find the magazine very informative.  I am not a Off Road nut however, have been on the Rubicon and have a WWII garage queen.   Also plan to purchase or build a crawler but if the society that goes crawlin turns out to be so loose and weird that it is unsafe, scrap that idea and the few vendors and businesses that would benefit from my measly purchases would lose one.  I think they would prefer to grow and sell all age groups.

I share the magazine with my son to get him interested in things mechanical but am being more and more inclined to not share it due to the language and the sometime disrespect for a number of subjects including women (I do like it but it is not so appropriate for kids).   Do as you do and I will probably end up dropping my subscription.  I suggest you stick to the original concept of the magazine...getting the techie tricks and changes into a great format and I will continue.   It appears the latter the way you are headed.

You have a great venue here for all ages.  Respect all values and you will broaden your publication.  There is a fine line between Newsweek and Time, Playboy and Hustler, JP and ????.  I have given your magazine to many of my friends, some who have subscribed, and they all see the negative side.   It is fun for the moment but in the end only time will tell.

Either way, you asked.

John, I like the humor, but not sexual humor. My kids look through it, as it sits on my coffee table. A few of the issues found their place in the trash very soon after reading it, because of some of the pictures.

I understood the "Jeeps we wouldn't own" as humor.

I viewed the pictures in the "Mayhem Tour" as disgusting, and not worth having, so the magazine was tossed quickly after reading it.

It can be funny and in good taste, IMO.
