I have fought for nearly a year to figure out what was causing my popping noise on my 94 yj. Anytime I experinced and slight twisting motion on my suspension it would have a solid feeling and sounding popping noise....At first I thought it was coming from the front but after walking outside while my wife drove it slowly I could hear it was coming from the rear. To make a long story short it turned out to be my rear spring U-bolt plates. They were bowed and the u-bolt holes were worn enlongated. Once I replaced them, the noice was gone and has not come back. This has been a very frustrating experince and I wanted to share it with my fellow jeepers so they may fix it easily.

Thanks for the heads up.....I've got a rattle coming from under my dash and it's driving me nuts. If I ever find it I will post something about it.

Rattles and noises are the worst...they are so hard to find.

Now that I thought about it I had what i thought was a rattle under the dash. It turned out to be the hood suport rod. I put a rag under it and the rattle went away.

On my 91 yj, my rattle turned out to be the hood hitting on the fenders. I ended up upgrading to a lot polyurethane bushings trying to find it though.
