As most, budget is tight. I have read some forums on rim screws with mixed reviews. I know the won't hold like bead locks, but as a weekend warrior, I'm curious if it'll work.
I don't do heavy rock crawling (really nothing here in buffalo), but tricky trails and mud. Really, my issue is a bead popping off due to low pressure, not a rock pushing it off the rim with the weight of my whole rig on it.
So, any experience on this about problems, leaks or anything of the sort would help me out a lot!!!

i know your on a budget but check out kore4x4customs. they have weld in bead lock rings. so you can turn your regular wheels into bead locks. i think for a 15" rim the kit for all 4 tiers is $210 dollars. if you know someone who can weld or find a local shop to do it for you on the cheap i would go this route. maybe you could pick up a paper route or get a second job to feed your jeep habit. lol. i'm a carpentor and i do work on the side to feed my habit. and tax returns are allways nice. the whole rim screws thing just scares me i can only imagine bad things happening.
will work for jeep parts!

I can weld, thats not a problem. I also have access to a nice MIG. With those kits, it does widen the rim by about two inches or so, doesn't it? I'm runnin 15x10's right now. I think a 12" rim would be quite wide for the tires I run. As for a side job, once I get my service van for work, I'll be doing home AC work on the side!!!

no the kit doesnt make your rims any wider. you weld the first ring flush with the front of your rim. then mount your tire leaving the outside half out of the rim then use the other ring to bolt the outside lip of the tire on. so the only way it gets any wider is the thickness of your tire bead and the outer ring. so your outer bead only moves out an inch from the inside to the outside of the rim. it doesnt make your rim itself any wider.

I ran bead screws for many years before upgrading to Staun bead locks. I did some hard core off roading with my bead screwed tires and rims and never had any issues.
