Hi everyone, just had the jeep for about 10 months. We bought a 2004 Rocky Mountain
Edition. The only thing we have done to date is gone with a beefier 31" on the Alcoa
rims.....any other suggestions?

It's a little hard to tell from the small photos, but it looks like you've got some rocker protection already.

I'd start with armor.  Add a good fuel tank, steering box, and t-case/tranny skid plate.  Then maybe some front and rear bumpers and an 8,000 or 9,000lb winch.

Next I'd do a heavy duty steering tie rod/drag link setup.  The stock unit usually bends or breaks right where the factory bend is on the passenger-side.  The Currie Enterprises HD setup is one of my favorites.

From there it's your call - either gears and lockers or suspension.  If you've already installed the winch I'd do the suspension since the winch can drag you over any obstacle that your open diffs won't get you over.  Maybe a 2-inch suspension lift and a 1-inch body lift so you can eventually step up to 33s.  When you do the body lift you can also install some 1-inch lift motor mounts to angle the rear driveline down and for fan/shroud alignment.

I'd toss the rear Dana 35 in favor of a better aftermarket 9-inch or TJ/Rubicon D44 and upgrade the front Dana 30 with some 4.56 gears if it's a 4.0L.  Go 4.88 or 5.13s if you've got a 2.5L.  I like selectable lockers like the ARB or Ox for TJs since their short control arms and coil springs accentuate handling quirks.

Wow, that sounds great. I know we spent alot of time
on logging roads. I would feel better being out there
with a winch....just in case. Last time I got stuck,
it took 4 ATV's to get me out.

The one thing that is good about this unit is that the Rocky Mountain edition in 2004 came with Dana30 front axle and the Dana44 on the rear, with 3.73 gears.

So true.....we are always going over sharp rocks here
in BC Canada. The Armour sounds like a MUST

Thanks everyone for the input.
