Been asking questions here and there about lifting my stock 96 XJ and thanks for all the help cause I've been able to get a fairly good hold on things. But now I've just learned what this little 2" lift is gonna do to my motor, clutch, milege, hp, etc. Even if I get a new differential will I ever be able to hit top gear again? Really torn cause I want truck to last but she's still my dd so it hurts to say I've gotta leave her stock for now.
But I still wanna improve my roadability cause my steering is unsteady in moderate wind and altogether just not driving as straight as other cars do. Tires prob need to be replaced for sure. Any suggestion for a solid road tire around $600 for 4? Got the stock 15" 5 spoke alloys.
And as for parts, what all in the front and rear suspension should I replace to get a good smooth road ride? Does EMU make stock suspension components for a 96 XJ? I'm thinking entirely new front and rear springs and shocks all 4. Any shock suggestion, or anything I'm missing?
thanks again

I out the RE 2 inch budget boost with rear add aleafs on my dads 01 XJ and he loves it. it rides better and clears his 31s. he has no issue in overdrive. as far as tires. get a name brand all terrtain.
a 2inch budget boost should not have any effect on motor or trans or anything. what motor do you have?
02 Tj with a few mods

NO need to go crazy. Am running an 03 WJ with 3" BDS and stock size 245/75/16 tires, and is very usable for offroad. (it is a jeep after all) don't need to go crazy, just need to practice off road to use what you've got. good luck feel free to ask for help

If you need BUDGET try front colis out of a ZJ/WJ, overland will also fit, and a small set of blocks in the rear, just remember to replace shocks with ones that accomodate the altitude change
