At really low speeds it feels like my 02 TJ is falling apart! I'm trying to figure out where all the small vibrations are coming from before I subject myself to someone elses opinions (& price quotes).
The rear diff feels like a really minor click but it's hard to notice and it's not often. it's a dana 44 that has been overhauled once and had the fluid changed twice in it's 100K life.
Overall when at low speeds there's vibration coming from everywhere: drive axle, & dif. nothing major although my g/f doesn't seem to mind, lol.
There's a sound coming from the clutch that resembles that of a deisel engine (not loud mind you but it's there) when the clutch is at rest. Once i depress clutch it goes away...throw out valve?
I have no mechanics in the fam and no one to trust. Any advice on diagnosis, repairs or costs would be appreciated!

Eh... have you opened up the rear diff to have a look yet? If not I would take a look and give it some new oil. If you have done any water crossing it could be full of water and going out. Just a guess.
I almost would recommend finding a small local mechanic and having them check it out. It may cost a few bucks, but it could be worth the piece of mind it will provide when its fixed.
So it's not a Jeep... sue me... it's still faster!

1. Does it continuously Click while moving slowly, or just a few clicks and then goes away? This could be a result of a faulty U-joint, or CV joint if you have one. Which, could also be causing your vibration. I would also check to see how tight your Pinion and transfer case yokes are. Also, make sure you grease the slip joint on the driveline, unless you are still running stock driveline without the SYE. Is there a Detroit locker in the rear axle? Those Click and make all sorts of weird noises under normal operation. I
2. That whole Diesel noise thing while your clutch is dis-engaged, that is definitely your Throw Out Bearing... Funny thing, I had the same exact thing happen on my 04 Rubicon at 800 Miles...
I think that about covers what I know... Hope the info helps out...

Thanx for the support maytes!
Yea it turned out to be my u-joint in front starting to fade. As you suggested it's only once in a while and when I checked the front there was a tiny bit of play. I'm going to keep an eye on it. Yea it's the Det locker out back and yea i'm hearing that it can be pretty loud.
The thorw out brg i'll have to look at.
Thanx man you rock! D

funny how a simple thing can seem like a major problem.

I wouldn't just keep an eye on that u-joint. you really don't want that thing leting go out on the road or on the trail. now that you know it is going it time to replace it. as soon as you got the funds to do it before something breaks and you eat a drive shaft.
a twenty dollar item makes hundreds disappear quickly if not taken care of. just a word of advice.
