Noob question- CJ2A starter

Ok, so, I've got a 1948 CJ2A. Well, 2 actually, but I'm gonna end up with one. I've got the motor pulled and am rebuilding it. I didn't pull the engine, I bought the Jeep from a guy who had already dissassembled it. In assembling the motor I noticed that the starter only has one terminal to hook a wire too. I was wondering how I am supposed to connect the starter up with only 1 terminal. I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I'm really stumpped. I usually work on BMWs and have just dug this project out of my barn a week ago after storing it several years.
Any help is appreciated! Ridicule is also welcome, I feel really dumb asking this sorta question after working on BMWs!
Thx.

use a ford starter relay or a gm 78-83 diesel glow plug relay.

here is an example, some older vehicles 40's and 50's had a foot button for the starter, linkage pushed in the starter button and engadged the bendix. http://www.car-stuff.com/cs_auto/mmpb/ford/f100/starter_relay/motorcraft/cs45e89a7d77f0d?roicid=U1172810084W45e7a9647e3bb&roikwd=Ford+F100+Starter+Relay on the starter.

Also, if that starter takes a dump on you you can upgrade to a later model unit.
